Led by Chairwoman Debbie Stabenow (D-MI) on Tuesday morning, the Senate Committee on Agriculture, Nutrition and Forestry had a fairly rapid markup of the draft version of its gigantic 2013 Farm Bill. It took a little more than three hours to blast through a series of amendments and approve the legislation on a vote of 15-5, with four Republicans and one Democrat opposed.

By late on Tuesday afternoon, Sen. Stabenow had officially introduced the legislation on the Senate Floor as the 1,150-page S.954, the Agriculture Reform, Food and Jobs Act of 2013 {PDF}.

Mrs. Obama will also be guest of honor at The Congressional Club's luncheon...
